1. How CutJam Works
CutJam is a marketplace that connects customers with vetted video editors. Customers browse editing styles, submit footage, and receive professionally edited video. Editors are matched to projects based on their specialties and availability.
2. Escrow & Payment
- When you submit a project, your payment is held in escrow via Stripe. The editor does not receive any funds until you approve the final delivery.
- Direct projects: Editors receive 100% of the editing fee. The customer pays the Stripe processing fee on top, shown at checkout.
- Jams and clipping campaigns: Winners and clippers receive 100% of the advertised prize pool or view budget. A 10% platform fee is added on top of the customer's checkout total and disclosed before payment.
- Retainers: The monthly subscription price includes a 20% platform fee. Editors receive the remaining 80% of the monthly amount.
- If you do not approve or request a revision within 7 days of delivery, escrow is automatically released to the editor.
3. Delivery & Turnaround
- Total delivery window: The turnaround tier selected at checkout is the guaranteed end-to-end delivery time for the finished video, including up to 2 revision rounds. Tiers: Rush (24h), Express (48h), Standard (72h).
- First draft and revisions: Each stage (first draft and each revision) is estimated at roughly one third of the tier window. These milestones are estimates; the hard commitment is the final cut by the tier deadline.
- The tier window is measured from when the editor accepts the project and runs until the final approved cut is delivered.
4. Revision Policy
- Each project includes up to 2 rounds of revisions at no extra cost.
- A revision round consists of you providing feedback and the editor delivering an updated cut.
- After 2 revision rounds, if you are still unsatisfied, you may open a dispute for our team to review.
5. Disputes & Refunds
- Either party (customer or editor) can open a dispute at any time during a project.
- Our team reviews disputes within 48 hours and determines the resolution: full refund, partial refund, or release to editor.
- If the editor misses the initial delivery deadline and no draft has been submitted, the customer is eligible for a full refund.
- Dispute decisions are final.
6. Content & Ownership
- You retain full ownership of the footage you upload and the final edited video.
- Editors may showcase completed work in their portfolio unless you opt out during the project brief.
- CutJam does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
7. Editor Obligations
- Editors must deliver the final approved cut within the tier window the customer selected (Rush: 24h, Express: 48h, Standard: 72h, end-to-end).
- Editors must complete up to 2 revision rounds per project. Revision turnaround scales with the customer's tier so the full project still lands by the tier deadline.
- Failure to deliver consistently may result in reduced matching priority or account suspension.
8. Cancellation
- Customers may cancel a project themselves for a full refund only before work starts and before an editor has been assigned.
- After an editor is assigned or work has started, cancellation goes through dispute or manual review.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as CutJam evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
