How does pricing work?

Each style has a flat fee based on video type and duration. The price you see is the price you pay. No hidden fees, no bidding wars. Your editor receives 100% of the editing fee; the only additional cost is a small Stripe processing fee.

How fast will I get my video?

Each turnaround tier is the total delivery window, including revisions. Standard (72h), Express (48h), or Rush (24h). You'll see the first draft at roughly a third of the way in, then up to 2 revision rounds, and the finished cut no later than the tier deadline.

What if I don't like the result?

You can request up to 2 rounds of revisions after receiving your first draft, each returned within about a third of the tier window (for example, Standard revisions come back in roughly 24h). Your payment is held in escrow until you approve the final cut. If you're still unsatisfied after 2 rounds, you can open a dispute and our team will review within 48 hours.

Every editor on CutJam goes through an application and review process. We evaluate their portfolio, editing skills, and style range before they can accept projects on the platform.

How do I start a project?

Browse styles on the Explore page, pick one you like, then click "Start a Project." You'll fill out a brief describing what you need, upload your raw footage, and choose your turnaround speed. We handle the rest.

What file formats can I upload?

We accept all common video formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and more. There's no file size limit. Upload your full raw footage and we'll take it from there.

How does payment & escrow work?

You pay at checkout via Stripe. Your payment is held in escrow (not released to the editor) until you approve the final video. If there's a dispute, our team steps in and reviews within 48 hours.

Can I communicate with my editor?

Yes! Once matched, you'll have a direct messaging thread with your editor to discuss details, share feedback, and coordinate on revisions.

What's your refund policy?

If you cancel before work starts and before an editor is assigned, you can cancel the project yourself for a full refund. Once an editor has been assigned or work has started, refunds are handled through dispute review. If a draft has been delivered, you can request up to 2 rounds of revisions. After that, you can open a dispute. Our team reviews disputes within 48 hours and determines the appropriate resolution.

How do I become an editor on CutJam?

Head to the "For Editors" page and submit your application with your portfolio and a sample edit. Our team reviews every application and gets back to you within a few days.

How does the project queue work?

Accepted Answer

When a customer submits a project in your style specialties, it appears in your queue. You can accept or pass on each project. Accepted projects come with a deadline based on the turnaround tier the customer chose.

How and when do I get paid?

You receive 100% of the editing fee. Payment is released from escrow as soon as the customer approves the final delivery. Withdrawals go directly to your connected bank account via Stripe.

What happens if a customer requests revisions?

Each project includes up to 2 revision rounds. When a customer requests changes, you'll see their feedback in the project thread. The time you have per revision scales with the customer's tier: roughly 24h on Standard, 16h on Express, and 8h on Rush. After 2 rounds, if the customer is still unsatisfied, our team steps in to help resolve it.
